Pink is Just Light Red

Today I've decided to demonstrate for you how to pose awkwardly with still wet hair.    I am totally owning that look!  Linking up late to the Mis Papelicos share-in for pink.

I hope your weekend is lovely and Happy Mother's Day to those who are celebrating it this weekend!

    1. I haven't been hiding them; I just bought them! I'd been looking for floral pants forever but never found any in my size. I was quite happy to scoop these ones up! Tight skirts...well I do have a couple of tightish maxi skirts and a couple of tight dresses but I admit I don't wear then often. I'll try harder!

    1. Just wait until I put on the high wedged sandals I bought recently. I made sure I could walk in them before buying. I seem to be safe in wedges. ;-)

    1. LOL-well I have long known that pink might actually be my best colour in terms of flattering me but it just doesn't make it's way into my heart like purple does. Pink loves me, but I do not love it as much in return.

  5. It's weird, isn't it? Light blue is light blue, light green is light green, but light red is pink. And it's pretty! Love those floral pants, and you're rockin' the light red top and wet hair!

    1. There is a special word for "light blue" in Russian as well as for "light red" (but none for "light green"!). English has sooooo many words, about five for everything, but there are no words for some things which seem obvious - like there is no word on English for "dark cloud" or for "24 hour period" - hmmm... :)

This little bit of linguistic spam was brought to you by In The Writer's Closet! :)

    2. I adore linguistic spam! I am a total word nerd in that way. English is both a nightmare and lots of fun because of its mongrel nature. All the synonyms are due to all the different languages that contributed to it, which I always find so fascinating. However I am now quite put out that it lacks some words. I may have to invent them. ;-)

    4. I thought there was an English word for a 24-hour period -- day.

    5. You are right of course about "day" - we use it in that sense in English, but the initial meaning very unlikely was "24 hours"... rather the opposite of "night". I meant there is no special word JUST for 24 hour period. :)

English is absolutely fascinating! I love how it has so many little "hues" of meaning. I also love that you guys invent words so easily! Russian is much more conservative in that sense.

    1. I gave up on finding any in the charity shops and found these new but on big discount. Floral trousers are still so in style right now I think that if any do make it to the charity shops they will be snapped up very quickly. Good luck finding yourself some. I'd love to see some on you!

    1. LOL-as much as I love skirts, I do tend to look younger and "cooler" in jeans and something colourful. What happend? Shawna is still purging the teacher, that's what happened. LOL- oh yes and I tossed those fears out when I did the spring cleaning!
