Hello Again

I am not sure where to begin, but here I am again rambling and muttering on the internet just as I was before.  Suddenly and without warning I found myself needing a blogging break so I just took it and focused on getting my room painted and on sleeping and resting a great deal.  Be assured that I continued to be stylish and gorgeous from the moment I woke every day.  And that pigs fly.

I always feel very fresh in blue and white. At some time during the past week I apparently wore this and took a picture.

Here I am looking very lagen.  In black and brown I never frown!  I am rather fond of brown, much to the dismay of my son who when he was five opined that brown was not acceptable as my favourite colour because it was not featured in the rainbow.  Beige is not for me, no beige makes me look like I should be hospitalised quickly, but give me a dark earthy brown and I am happy.  While you are at it, I'll take some chocolate too please.  How could brown be bad if it is the colour of chocolate?

Today I can't quite decide how many layers to wear because it's cooler inside than outside.  I went to the grocery store in fewer layers and was so cold I had goose bumps.  The breeze coming in my windows, while lovely, was also making me feel a bit chilly so I added leggings and put on a more substantial sweater.  I prefer the look anyhow.  Layers make me feel grounded as there is the constant danger that I may just float away.

Then I got too warm and peeled off some layers again.  That's summer on the west coast!

  1. Welcome back … I had wondered where you'd popped off to … but hoped it was off on an fantastic holiday somewhere exotic!
Brown really suits you … I'm partial to a bit of brown myself … and have even been known to wear beige … *gasp* … I just say that with red hair I already look bright enough to get away with a few nondescript colours ;0)

  2. You're here!! I was beginning to wonder if something happened to you after you played with those pink boxing gloves. Like maybe you hit the road as a boxer with Clint Eastwood or something...glad to see you're back. I actually stopped by today and wondered, "what the heck?"

I'm with you on the brown. They never make enough clothing in brown. I have a hard time finding it at all. I love this dress, the layers, the leggings, the ruffly hippie details on the dress. I would wear the same thing if I had it. And layers work perfectly for the hot outside, cool inside days. I feel better covered up a bit too.

How'd that bedroom come out? Let's seeeee!!!!

    1. I didn't plan to disappear, it just happened. I was getting quite exhausted and I barely managed to do the pink post, so definitely no energy for going on tour! I read somewhere that brown is coming back this fall. I hope so, because then I will stock up on brown stuff. The bedroom makeover is still in progress but the major work, the painting is done. I need to get curtains up still and a few other small details. I promise to show it when I'm done!

  3. While I love blue and white (it does look fresh, doesn't it?), your brown lagen look suits you better. I always like brown when I had brown hair. Alas, brown with gray hair doesn't quite excite me.

It's good to see you back and to know that you are okay! I keep thinking I'm going to take a break, but then I don't. I'm just less active, I guess.

    1. I never imagined I'd just fall of the face of the earth for ten days like I did-lol. It just happened. I was overwhelmed and blogging was the last thing I could do. I missed everyone though!

  4. Welcome back. You were missed! Breaks are great. I found myself on one too and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brown is a tough color for most. I found that those with golden highlights and undertones look great in browns that have more of an orangey tinge to it. Anyways, your laden look suits you well.

    1. Thanks Glenda! I missed everyone too. The only brown that I think works for me is a deeper one and I like to pair it with another colour or with black. That keeps it more suitable to my cool colouring. I had a great aunt whose favourite colour combination was dark red, green and brown and it look fantastic on her. I love those colours too.

  6. Glad you took a break. But I was worried! I nearly sent you an email every day, and talked myself back out of it. What could I do from the other side of the world anyway? Sooo nice to see I was worried for nothing.
How exciting doing the painting. I still have a room to paint that I stopped halfway through, two years ago! I know!
Loving the blue and white and the brown and black.
I'm still investigating Lagenlook in your absence. I feel a 3d design coming on :-)
    Hugs, JJ

    1. Oh I'm so sorry I made you worry! You can e-mail any time you want to and I won't mind at all. I will even reply! LOL It has taken me nearly a month to get my room painted but I cannot stand living in chaos so I think that took as much out of me emotionally as the painting work did physically.

I promise that next time, if I take a break like that again, I will make a post to say I am okay and resting. I didn't realise I would be missed!
      Hugs right back at you!

  7. Although you look fab in blue, I'm in love with brown as well. It's ALMOST as great as black!! :-) You wear that lovely rich shade of brown wonderfully!! I love all your layers too. I've escaped the dense southern heat for the moment and am reveling in more moderate temperatures for the moment. What a joy to be able to wear a scarf with my skirt and sandals!! XXOO

  9. Live first, blog later! Its good to turn the PC off and get things done, isn't it?
I loved brown as a blonde but now unless its highly patterned, I feel a drab and dowdy. You, on the other hand, look fabulous, great layering! xxx
